About these tools
GST maths trips people up because the same rate behaves differently depending on whether the price already includes tax. Adding 18% to ₹1,000 gives ₹1,180, but removing 18% from ₹1,180 is not ₹1,180 minus 18% — it is ₹1,180 ÷ 1.18. These calculators handle both directions correctly.
For an intra-state supply the rate splits equally into CGST and SGST, so 18% becomes 9% plus 9%. For an inter-state supply the whole 18% is charged as IGST. Every calculator here shows that split so you can copy the figures straight onto an invoice.

How do I add GST to a price?
Multiply the base price by (1 + rate ÷ 100). At 18%, ₹1,000 becomes ₹1,000 × 1.18 = ₹1,180.
How do I remove GST from an inclusive price?
Divide by (1 + rate ÷ 100). At 18%, ₹1,180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1,000 base, so the GST is ₹180.
When is it CGST + SGST instead of IGST?
Supplies within one state attract CGST and SGST at half the rate each. Supplies across state lines attract IGST at the full rate.
